Près d’un an après son lancement, Threads, le dernier-né de Meta, maison mère de Facebook et Instagram, continue de gagner du terrain avec une croissance impressionnante. La plateforme compte désormais 200 millions d’utilisateurs actifs mensuels, un chiffre qui témoigne de son adoption rapide et de son attrait auprès du public.
Le Milliard d’Utilisateurs dans le Viseur
Mark Zuckerberg, PDG de Meta, ne cache pas ses ambitions pour Threads. Dans un message adressé à la communauté, il a exprimé son espoir que la plateforme inspire des idées qui rassemblent les gens et que la communauté continue de croître. « Merci d’investir votre temps et de nous faire part de vos commentaires afin d’améliorer la plateforme pour tout le monde », a-t-il déclaré.
Zuckerberg vise désormais un milliard d’utilisateurs pour Threads. Pour atteindre cet objectif, Meta prévoit de multiplier les événements promotionnels et d’utiliser Instagram pour attirer de nouveaux utilisateurs. Threads a été lancé à l’été 2023 aux États-Unis, en réponse à X (anciennement Twitter). L’application est arrivée en décembre 2023 en France et dans l’Union européenne, étendant ainsi sa portée sur le marché international.
Le réseau social se distingue par ses publications en temps réel de moins de 500 caractères, rappelant les fonctionnalités de X. Au fil du temps, Meta a ajouté des fonctionnalités supplémentaires pour améliorer l’expérience utilisateur, telles que la modification de posts, une interface web et la recherche par mots-clés.
